              August 1959:
Design work begins on Digital's first computer, the
Programmed Data Processor-1 (PDP-1).
                     
              November 1960:
The
PDP-1, the world's first small, interactive computer is delivered to Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN), a computer consulting firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
                     
              1961:
Gordon Bell begins design work on the
PDP-4.
                     
              July 1962:
Shipments begin of the
PDP-4, DIGITAL's second 18-bit computer.
                     
              December 1964:
The
PDP-7, Digital's third 18-bit computer, is introduced.
                     
              1965:
The
PDP-7A is introduced.
                 
              August 1966:
The
PDP-9, DIGITAL's fourth 18-bit computer system ships.
                 
              1969:
The
PDP-15, successor to the PDP-9 and 9/L, is introduced.
               
              1970:
MUMPS software for the PDP-15 is introduced.
