The CVAX chip was
the second-generation VLSI VAX microprocessor,
offering 2.5 - 3.5 times the power of its
predecessor. It was DIGITAL's first internally
manufactured CMOS microprocessor. High
performance came from features such as
macro-instruction prefetch, micro-instruction
pipeline, 1kb onchip datacache and a 28 entry
onchip translation buffer. |
